Q. How do teams work? A. If you choose to enter as a team, one person will be responsible for the bike portion and the other person will be responsible for both running portions. In other words, team member #1 runs the first 2 miles, then team member #2 bikes the 11 miles, and finally team member #1 runs the last 2 miles. This is done in a relay fashion so you must pass the removable timing chip to your other team member in order to proceed with the next portion.
Q. Will I receive a free t-shirt? A. It is our goal to give each race registrant a complimentary t-shirt with a MetLife® Duathlon design on the front and our sponsors on the back. Although we ask for your shirt size upon registration, we cannot guarantee your size on race day.
Q. Can I wear headphones during the race? A. You are NOT allowed to listen to ANY audio device during ANY portion of the race. If seen wearing headphones during the race, the race staff will request that you return the equipment to transition area or leave it with the staff member. In either case, MetLife® Duathlon cannot be held responsible for lost or stolen equipment.
Q. Do I need to wear a helmet on the race course? A. Only on the bike course is a helmet required. You will not be allowed to leave transition and will not be timed if you cannot produce a helmet at that time. Those disqualified due to this restriction will not be issued a refund for the race.
Q. Can I request a refund? A. We will not be able to issue a refund for any reason as the event benefits a local charity. You will forfeit your entry fee if you are unable to partake in the race.
